This week’s Monday Night Raw marked the first match in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, Dakota Kai and IU Skye would emerge victorious and advance to the next round. Tonight’s SmackDown will feature Round Two of the tournament, with teams Raquel Rodriguez, Alia, Shutzi and Xia Li vying for the next spot, and after an exciting match between the two new tag teams, it was Rodriguez and Alia. He would win and cement his place in the next round of the championship in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Rodriguez attacked Schutzi first but Schutzi avoided several attacks and went to work on her opponent’s back and shoulders, although Rodriguez was picking her up with one arm and hitting her. Xia Li was tagged and then tagged Alia as Rodriguez picked her up and threw her over Xia.
Outside, Sonia Deville and Natalya were swinging at Shea and Alia, Rodriguez and Schutzi attacked and kicked them out and then turned their focus back to each other as we went on a commercial break. After the break, Xia Li controlled Aliyah and was then flagged at Shotzi, combining a knockout and a cover attempt, but Aliyah was sent off.
Shea came back and then Schutzi hit Alia with a bulldog before trying to cover but she was kicked out again. Shea kept Alia isolated in the corner and flagged Schutzi again, but Alia bought herself some space and got up on her feet. Shea went to knock Rodriguez out of the arena and Alia pushed Shea with her kicks. Shea went to get a head suplex but Alia countered him with a neck piece and then got the tag to Rodriguez.
Shea was tagged at Schutzi but Rodriguez hit her with a shoulder kick and then a quick kick. I held her again for another knockout and then hit a spinner elbow before going to the Tigana bomb, but Shea stepped in and distracted her, giving Shotzi a chance to reach out and throw her into the corner. Schutzi hits her to the ground and she goes for cover but Rodriguez kicks her out.
Shea walked in and then they went for a scan of the Russian leg but Alia broke it. Rodriguez then hit Tigana’s bombshell on Shea and it was for Shea, allowing Rodriguez and Alia to move on to the next round of the tournament.
